On Sept 1, 2022, President Joe Biden uncorked a bombastic, hateful diatribe against his party’s political enemies, and he had the gall to do it in front of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, bathed in blood-red light, flanked by two United States Marines. Incredibly, this “speech” was billed in advance by his press secretary as unifying, uplifting, and non-political.
Biden left Americans on both sides of the aisle speechless, aghast at his bile and animosity. But the never-speechless Stephen Miller, on Fox News’ Hannity program delivered a solid rejoinder that same evening.
In 90 seconds, Miller took Biden apart so effectively that the next day Biden and his apologists were back-pedaling furiously, denying he had said what he said and frantically sputtering yeah-but-what-about-isms. Alas, it was already too late — Biden’s speech will live on indefinitely as a bell that can never be un-rung.
