The Left, the Right, and Race – a Passionate Speech by Dennis Prager

To Americans, thunders Dennis Prager, race should be a person’s least important attribute. Instead, over the past 50 years, the Left has elevated race to be the single-most-important attribute that defines a person, followed closely by that person’s gender and class

What ever happened to wisdom, character, compassion?

Further, when Prager is asked what is the most important difference between a liberal and a Leftist, he almost always names their respective views on race.

To a true (classic) liberal, race is irrelevant. On the other hand, to a Leftist, race is the primary means of dividing America into identity groups that they can pit against one another to win votes and power. To be sure, gender and class are used too, but race is invariably Number One.

I do remember when American civics classes spoke of America as the world’s great melting pot I almost never hear that phrase any more. The Left hates the phrase, says Prager. He loves it.

In today’s Democrat party, now dominated by the Left, try to find one campaign theme that isn’t tied to race/gender/class warfare in some way. Listen to Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren — identity group politics is their stock-in-trade.

Shame on the Left, bellows Prager, for their obsession over race/gender/class identity politics.
